• Model Essays

Learning is partly imitation. In math, students see examples of solved problems and in athletics, examples of ideal technique. Unfortunately, English is often taught without such models. WIP aims to correct this oversight by providing model essays for all writing assignments.

  • Structured Assignments

Overwhelming tasks are conquerable only when broken down into manageable chunks. We believe in combining challenge and guidance: pushing students to do more than they thought they could by identifying step-by-step procedures.

  • Relevant Scaffolding

Just as a structure needs scaffolding before it can "stand" on its own, so do students. That's why each lesson not only targets fundamental skills, but also the relevant background knowledge necessary to effectively employ such skills.
